In this work, experimental determinations are carried out using a home-made device called an erythrodeformeter, which has been developed and constructed for rheological measurements on red blood cells subjected to definite fluid shear stress. A numerical method formulated on the basis of the fractal approximation for ordinary and fractionary Brownian motion1 is proposed to evaluate the viscoelastic behavior of mammalian erythrocyte membranes. The diffraction pattern, which is circular when the mammalian erythrocyte membranes are at rest, becomes elliptical when the cells undergo shear stress. Photometric readings of light intensity variation along the major axis of the elliptical diffraction pattern are recorded during the creep and recovery process. These data series are used to calculate, fractal rheological parameters of self-affine Brownian motion on the erythrocytes, averaged over several millions of cells. Three different parameters over the time dependent process could be obtained, which are: correlation coefficient <C(t)>, correlation integral, andK 2-entropy, and very different results were obtained.  相似文献

The propagation velocity (vs) of an ultrasonic signal through a granular material depends on the type of interparticle contact. For noncohesive glass beads, a power law behavior for consolidation stresses applied (σc) above 1 MPa has been measured in previous work. This equation is compatible with Hertz's interaction law between elastic solids. In the present work, we have tested the propagation velocity of ultrasound signals through a sample of fine powder. The tensile strength and compactivity of the powder were previously measured by means of the Seville powder tester (SPT), indicating plastic deformation of the surface asperities in contact for small to moderate consolidation stresses. However, the measurements of ultrasound propagation at high consolidations presented here are compatible with Hertz's law. This finding suggests that for high consolidation stresses, surface asperities are flattened, and it is therefore the elastic deformation of the bulk of the particles that determines the transmission of ultrasonic pulses.  相似文献

Three CoII octaazacryptates, with different substituents on the aromatic rings (Br, NO2, CCH), were synthesised and characterised. These and the already published non-substituted cryptate catalysed CO2 photoreduction to CO and CH4 under blue visible light at room temperature. Although CO was observed after short irradiation times and a large range of catalyst concentrations, CH4 was only observed after longer irradiation periods, such as 30 h, but with a small catalyst concentration (25 nm ). Experiments with 13C labelled CO2 showed that CO is formed and reacts further when the reaction time is long. The CCH catalyst is deactivated faster than the others and the more efficient catalyst for CH4 production is the one with Br. This reactivity trend was explained by an energy decomposition analysis based on DFT calculations.  相似文献
